Geweldige Muziek!
That's Dutch for "great music" - or so Google Translate tells us. Next month, the Russian National Orchestra will be making great music in Holland, with four concerts in Eindhoven and Amsterdam, including two at the world-famous Concertgebouw (above). Abu Dhabi Festival
The Russian National Orchestra has planned a very special trip for its patrons and friends: to Abu Dhabi, from March 30-April 5, 2011. Making its debut at the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Festival, the RNO will appear with a galaxy of stars, including pianist Yefim Bronfman, opera greats Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Ekaterina Siurina, conductor Nicola Luisotti, and principal dancers from the Bolshoi, Kirov and American Ballet Theatre.
Along with glorious music, guests will experience the rich culture of Abu Dhabi, spectacular sites from ancient to modern, and the special events for which RNO trips are renowned. For more information, see the PDF linked here.

Brubeck Honored
On September 28, an intimate jazz concert at Richards of Greenwich was held to honor jazz legend Dave Brubeck with the Russian National Orchestra's prestigious Silver Baton Award (past recipients include Gordon Getty, Charles Simonyi, Barbara Roach and Peter T. Paul). The concert featured RNO soloists Maxim Rubtsov and Vladislav Lavrik, together with the Brubeck Brothers Quartet. Read more... |
