Special Productions
The Russian National Orchestra Wind Quintet is distinguished for its innovative productions incorporating such diverse elements as dance, theater, narration and multimedia. The Russian Wind Quintet creates special musical arrangements for these productions, often calling upon the talents of its resident composers, Andrey Rubtsov and Andrey Shuty, or the choreographic skills of two members of the Quintet who are former dancers.
In August 2005, the ensemble premiered its new production of The Nutcracker and of Bizet's Carmen arranged for wind quintet, in collaboration with stars of the Kremlin Ballet Theater. Photos of the London debut appear below.

Other recent and forthcoming productions include:
- Performances of the Wind Quintet's adaptation of the Grammy-winning Wolf Tracks with narration by Vermont Governor James Douglas (Barre, Vermont), fashion journalist and super model Tatiana Sorokko (Washington, D.C.) and actor Sean Dill (Bermuda).
- A presentation of Peter and the Wolf in Singapore, accompanied by a theatrical performance staged by local children.
- In Bermuda, a dance and music performance of Andrey Rubtsov's Three Moods, with choreography by Conchita Ming.
- Performances of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with narration by actress Diana Douglas (Bermuda), BBC radio host Seva Novgorodtsev (London) and RNO Chief Executive Sergei Markov (Newport Beach, California).
- In 2006, the Russian Wind Quintet together with Jazz at Lincoln Center will premiere their co-production of The Nutcracker. The production includes suites from Tchaikovsky's original Nutcracker and Duke Ellington's jazz arrangements, featuring the leading proponents of the classical and jazz versions of this masterpiece performing together. The new production will showcase soloists from both ensembles and original choreography.
